Michela Cerruti Is Ready For The 2014 Auto GP Challenge

After a winter of waiting, Michela Cerruti is ready to be back on-track for the start of the 2014 Auto GP Series. The opening round of 2014 is set for this coming weekend at Marrakech, in Morocco, to start what will be the first full season for Michela in the series promoted by Coloni Motorsport. She will be lining-up with the reigning champions among teams, Super Nova International. After having left a strong impression in her first Auto GP outings last season, and confirmed her potential during the off-season tests, Michela will be facing an unusual track that presents all the hidden dangers but also all the opportunities of the temporary street courses.

"We worked in a very positive fashion with the team both in the post-season tests and in the collective session at Valencia, so I think we have all what it takes to deliver. The main concern is the nature of the Marrakech street course, which presents some complexities both in terms of the layout and the grip level we expect there. It's fascinating though to race on new and unusual circuits. After Marrakech, there will be plenty of time for the "normal" ones!

"The Valencia test went very well. During the AM segment on Day 1 I set the fastest lap and I'm happy because it wasn't luck. We were there for real. I paid a bit of a price in terms of tiredness, because I haven't been driving during the winter, but luckily I wasn't the only one to have such problems. Also for that reason, after the first morning we switched our efforts more towards the race pace and set-up rather than the new-tire qualifying runs. I hope that this approach will pay its dividends at Marrakech".
