Team HRC Set sights on Sevlievo

Team HRC’s European adventure continues as the MXGP paddock heads to Bulgaria for round five of the FIM Motocross World Championship this weekend.

The northern town of Sevlievo welcomes the world’s very best off-road riders to a track many of them know well, especially Honda’s German ace Max Nagl who knows what it takes to win here.

The super-consistent Nagl will look to capitalise upon progress made in recent tests and continue his strong run of form this season, building on his fourth position overall in the championship.

Evgeny Bobryshev is remarkably returning to action just one week after his crash in Italy, but feels very at home at the Eastern European venue.

The hard pack surface and fast flowing nature of the Sevlievo track will highlight the recent improvements made to the Honda CRF450RW in testing, whilst the gains in start performance could prove pivotal at a track where start gate selection is more important than ever.

Although rain is forecast at the end of the week, Sunday’s expected sunshine and temperatures of 20degrees Celsius should create ideal conditions for racing.

Max Nagl No.12
Sevlievo is a track where everyone is nearly the same speed, like the first fifteen guys within one second, so the start is very important there. We showed in Arco that we’ve improved a lot our starts so I’m looking more forward to this track.

Evgeny Bobryshev No.777
Bulgaria reminds me a bit of Russia and always I like to go there. The track is the kind I really like because it’s really fast with some big jumps and the surface is a good compound. My back is feeling better each day so I’m looking forward to it. The race is good there, and I’m really happy to go. I like the setup for the fast tracks and we improved also in the last test so it will be much better for the Bugaria-style of fast and flowing tracks.

Roger Harvey HRC General Manager - MXGP
Bulgaria is quite a flowing track, very different to Arco. It’s a well-run and well-presented grand prix, and always good to go there. I’m positive. The improvements we’ve made to starts will show again as it’s a better start in Bulgaria, but gate position is more important as there’s quite a bit of bias from one side of the track to the other. There are some quite fearsome hills with some big jumps that require a good technique so it’s quite a technical track and I think it will suit Max and Bobby well; just hopefully Bobby will be ok after his crash in Arco.
