2014 Chinese GP: Red Bull Formula One F1 Practice Recap

DANIEL RICCIARDO First Practice Session: Position: 3, Best Time: 1:40.772, Laps: 23 Second Practice Session: Position: 4, Best Time: 1:38.811, Laps: 30 "That wasn’t too bad today. I think tyres are always a bit of a challenge around this track, particularly with the softs, they seem to wear on the front left. Turn one is quite bad and turn 13, coming onto the back straight; you do see marbles around the lap, but I think that’s just the nature of the circuit. Our long run looked pretty good and we did more laps than we thought we would, so let’s see how we go tomorrow and Sunday."

SEBASTIAN VETTEL First Practice Session: Position: 9, Best Time: 1:41.629, Laps: 19 Second Practice Session: Position: 5, Best Time: 1:39.015, Laps: 31 "We didn’t have any major issues today, so it was good in terms of testing. The track was very green; I think Formula One were the only cars running on the circuit today. There’s a lot for us to do, for me especially as I’m not yet where I want to be, but we made some progress. Tyre graining was average today, but I think it was the same for the others also; I’m sure it will get better as the weekend goes on. If it’s dry then the circuit ramps up and if it’s wet then it resets every time."

NAME THAT THING Yes, it’s that time of the weekend - the moment we bring you the latest in our series of pictorial brain-teasers. So ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, without further ado, allow us to present Name That Thing. To be fair, we reckon this one’s a bit of an easy cross but we thought you might still a bit jet-lagged and that you might not be thinking too straight, so easy is good, right? The correct answer will be revealed on our website tomorrow (www.infiniti-redbullracing.com). Once again, there’s no prize, just another great opportunity to belittle your colleagues and shout from the rooftops that there is no piece of F1 trivia that is beyond your enormous reach.
