Antonelli And Bastianini Ready To Discover The New Termas De Rio Hondo Circuit

The Junior Team GO&FUN Moto3 will be back in action this weekend for the Grand Prix of Argentina on the new Termas de Rio Hondo circuit. Located only 6 kilometers from the town which gives the venue its name, in the province of Santiago del Estero, the track - built in 2008 – was in fact completely renovated last year.

Although still a little sore in his left leg after the Austin crash, Niccolò Antonelli is ready to get back in the saddle of his KTM machine to make up for the disappointment suffered in Texas. After the great 13th place finish, who gave him the first World Championship points of his career, rookie Enea Bastianini will try to confirm himself among the top fifteen riders under the chequered flag.

NICCOLO' ANTONELLI “As soon as I came back to Italy from the U.S., I underwent an MRI on the left leg: luckily we got the confirmation that nothing is broken, even if they found a hematoma which takes a couple of weeks to heal completely. Therefore, I should be okay for the race, except perhaps some small pain. Before the fall during the race, the Austin weekend has been very positive: I was able to regain a good feeling with the bike and we were always among the fastest in all the free practice sessions. For this reason, I look at Argentinian round with optimism. We will race under different conditions compared to Texas, but I believe that the situation will not change: the fastest will always be the same, and we want to be there with them!”.

ENEA BASTIANINI “Looking at the track layout, you’ll immediately notice that the Termas de Rio Hondo circuit is a pretty fast track, without first gear corners, so I think that I will like it a lot! In Austin I picked up my first World Championship points, also because many riders that were in front of me crashed; my goal for this race is to repeat that performance, possibly without receiving this kind of aid”.

FAUSTO GRESINI “Antonelli’s fall in Texas was a real pity: we had great ambitions, which, unfortunately, have been unfulfilled, so hopefully in Argentina Niccolò can finally prove his speed picking up a result in line with our expectations. In the United States Enea has been able to finish a great race by collecting his first World Championship points: at 16, and only at his second race in the World Championship, it’s a great satisfaction that will surely give him the enthusiasm to face in the best way this race and the rest the season”.

FACTS AND FIGURES
