On Thursday, Sorenson participated in a tree planting at James River Park as part of the NASCAR Go Green initiative. Joined by Miss Sprint Cup Madison Martin, Richmond International Raceway President Dennis Bickmeier, Lorene King from the NASCAR Foundation, NASCAR Nationwide Series driver Elliott Sadler, Miss Coors Light and Smokey the Bear, Sorenson was honored to be a part of this event.

"I am honored to have been a part of NASCAR's tree planting ceremony today at James River Park," Sorenson said. "It is great that a major sport, like NASCAR is involved with the Race to Green initiative that helps to raise awareness and educate people about helping the environment."

"I personally plan on becoming more educated and giving back to the environment going forward," Sorenson said after the planting ceremony.

"It was great having this past weekend off, and being able to spend some time at home with my family. I am looking forward to getting back behind the wheel of the No. 36 TBR Chevrolet at Richmond this week, and racing under the lights. The guys have been working hard to get the cars ready for Saturday night, so I'm going to do the best I can out there, and hopefully come home with a solid finish for Tommy Baldwin Racing."
