A Solid Start For I.S.R. Racing At Motorland Aragon

I.S.R. Racing experienced a positive Friday run at Alcaniz, in the two practice sessions for the second round of the 2014 World Series by Renault. The Czech squad, which is fielding one car for Malaysian racer Jazeman Jaafar, performed well in both practice sessions showing good pace and consistency at the Spanish Motorland Aragón venue. The 21-year-old driver rounded out the top-8 twice: in practice 2, he ran some qualifying simulations and also spent some time at the top of the charts.

Now the goal is to keep improving on a circuit that presented many difficult aspects to deal with, from the gutsy wind that disrupted the series’ activities to a notably close pack also coming from the amount of time that everybody spent on-track in preseason testing. The teams and drivers will now be back tomorrow at 10:20 local time for Qualifying 1.

Jazeman Jaafar - S1 - P8; S2 - P8
“With all this wind the track is pretty tricky and I'm glad it stopped a little bit before practice 2. We did a lot of qualifying simulations in the afternoon and I think they went pretty ok. I made a small mistake that probably cost me a tenth of a second in my quickest lap so I think there is good room for further improvement. The pack is really close, especially with all the testing we did here and there are a lot of areas where it’s all matter of very small improvements in order to improve. Anyway, from a technical standpoint we aren't far off and I’m confident for the rest of the weekend.”
