More Improvement In Qualifying For Tetsuta In Argentina

It’s been a day of constant improvement for Japanese rider Tetsuta Nagashima aboard his Teluru team JiR Webike Moto2 machine ahead of tomorrow’s Moto2 race in Argentina.

The 21-year-old shaved almost 1.7 seconds from his Friday time to be closer to pole than he’s ever been in his short Moto2 career. This is a positive showing from Nagashima at a track that is a level playing field for the Moto2 grid, having never been to Circuito Termas de Rio Hondo before.

At the front, Esteve Rabat took pole from Johann Zarco and Xavier Simeon.

Tetsuta Nagashima, Teluru team JiR Webike rider: best lap 1m 45.964s

"Today I had an improved and still more positive feeling with the bike from yesterday and I improved my time which is always the main goal. My target was to try an get into the 1m 45s bracked and with a 45.9 I just made it, so I feel good with the work of today, so I thank the team. For the race I really feel that I need to find another half a second – so tomorrow morning in warm-up I want to try some different settings to make that a possibility. We can but try! Overall I like the track and come the race I want to make a good start and try and hang on to the group ahead of me.”

Grand Prix of Argentina – Qualifying session results:

1. Esteve RABAT – 1’ 43.961

2. Johann ZARCO - 1'43.971 - +0.010s

3. Xavier SIMEON - 1'44.038 - +0.077s
