Tetsuta Nagashima and Teluru team JiR Webike head to Jerez

The MotoGP World Championship is coming back to Europe and heading to the familiar haunt of the Circuito de Jerez this weekend.

Both the Teluru/JiR Webike team and rider Tetsuta Nagashima are looking forward to returning to Europe and making more progress at this popular race track.

Jerez was built in 1986 with the first visit of the MotoGP circus arriving the following year. The 4.423km (2.75 mile) circuit is a favourite among riders, as it delivers unparalleled atmosphere as the tight and twisty nature means the passionate Spanish fans can see lots of the action. The circuit itself has many twists and turns as well as some hard braking areas, meaning set up of the machine is vital.

Gianluca Montiron, Teluru team JiR Webike’s team principal.

“It’s difficult to both assess our results so far and look towards the next few rounds of the 2014 season as Tetsuta has had to adapt to many things. These include a new life travelling the world, new circuits, riding style, tyres and taking on the top Moto2 riders of the world. During Argentina the gap in practice was around two seconds, which shows an improvement while the total race distance gap was the same at around a minute. So, in Jerez we will focus our attention on being consistent on the race rhythm during practices and having an improvement in performance during the race. This is our wish for the first European GP weekend.”

Tetsuta Nagashima, Teluru team JiR Webike’s rider

“I have tested at Jerez twice in the previous winter, so I feel much less stressed preparing myself for this GP as there isn’t the worry of going into the unknown. Although I’m pressuring myself to find more than a second, I would like to start the first practice session in good shape and would like to improve session by session. I need to find a good chassis setting with our engineers to allow my riding more comfort on the bike and therefore give me a better chance of having a competitive race here.”
