Jamie McMurray and No. 1 McDonald’s Team

Richmond Wrap Up: Following strong storms and rain that forced the cancelation of qualifying on Friday evening at Richmond International Raceway (RIR), Saturday’s weather seemed near perfect for the Toyota Owners 400. Jamie McMurray drove a steady race in McDonald’s Chevy to a 13th place finish.

McMurray at Talladega: In 23 previous starts at the 2.66-mile tri-oval, McMurray has amassed seven top-10, six top-five finishes and two victories, including his most recent series win on Oct. 20, 2013. Amongst active drivers who are on the entry list for Sunday’s Aaron’s 499, McMurray is tied with five others for the third most victories (2) at Talladega. His two wins on the superspeedway came during the series’ fall race at Talladega in 2009 and 2013.

Ranking at The Top: Over the last 18 races at Talladega Superspeedway, Jamie McMurray ranks 10th in driver rating among all full-time NSCS drivers. During that stretch McMurray has a driver rating of 83.3 and has compiled six top-five finishes and seven top-10 finishes, including two victories and one second place finish. McMurray has also run almost half of all his laps (49.4%) in the top-15 over that time period.

Picture Perfect: Last year’s victory at Talladega was the first win for McMurray with either of his two children (Carter 3, Hazel 2) being present. McMurray was able to have his first “family photo” with his wife and both children in Victory Lane. McMurray commented, “That was a great picture, one that I will always cherish”.
Kyle Larson and No. 42 Target Team

Richmond Recap: In the first race back after the off-weekend, Kyle Larson and Team Target started the race weekend atop the leaderboard with a very fast car in practice which ultimately earned him the pole for Saturday’s race as a result of qualifying being cancelled due to rain. However, after starting on the pole, Larson was involved in an early incident on lap one and had to work the remainder of the race to move back through the field before finishing in 16th position.

Larson at Talladega: Larson has one previous start at Talladega that came in the No. 32 Cessna Chevrolet during last season’s NNS Aaron’s 312. Larson will look to improve upon his previous trip to the track, which ended in a wreck about halfway through the race.

A Shopping Bullseye: If you have made it to the race only to find out you’ve forgotten to pack a few necessities, there’s no need to worry. For all your last minute needs, and forgotten items, Target has all of the essentials and more. Target is located at 400 Oxford Exchange Boulevard, Oxford, Ala. 36203 and can be reached at (804) 559-5802. Call ahead and make sure they have what you need.
