Auto GP Teams And Drivers Line-Up In Budapest

Budapest is a spectacular and extraordinary place. The Hungarian city is one of the richest in terms of history and culture among the Eastern European capitals. And thanks to the parade held between the city streets, the Auto GP series was able to be part of this great history by placing three cars alongside the Formula 1 and DTM racers brought by Red Bull, who promoted the event.

In addition to Daniel Ricciardo,David Coulthard, Timo Glock, Sebastien Loeb, Yvan Mueller, Tiago Monteiro and Norbert Michelisz, home hero Tamas Pal Kiss was able to meet with his fans not too much time after scoring his maiden Auto GP win at Le Castellet. The Hungarian has been a part of the Coloni-organized series for the last year, as the championship continues to offer an unique chance to new talents, providing them with a developmental environment able to develop their skills as professionals. In addition to the Zele Racing driver, the Super Nova cars of Michela Cerruti and Markus Pommer. For the Italian female racer, it was the first city exhibition, while the German also had the chance to salute the fans who came from Germany or are vacationing in Hungary.

The race will also feature an interesting return as reigning champion Vittorio Ghirelli will be rejoining aboard the third Super Nova car. The Italian clocked the pole at Budapest last year, before winning the title at Brno. The battle with Euronova’s Kimiya Sato will be back with the Japanese racer leading the championship with 68 points, in front of Pommer and Kiss. On the other hand, Eurotech’s Kevin Giovesi has been the only driver to score poles in this season’s Auto GP and will try to do it all again at the Hungaroring.

The two free practice sessions will be held at 11:00 and 14:00 on Friday, while qualifying will be taking place at 17:00 on Saturday. Race 1, consisting of 23 laps, will go underway at 11:10 on Saturday, followed by the 19-lap long Race 2 on Sunday at 12:15. Both races will be broadcasted on Eurosport.
