Tomas Kostka Takes Maiden Eurov8series Pole At Vallelunga For Audi Sport Italia

Tomas Kostka led from start to finish in qualifying for the EUROV8SERIES round at Vallelunga. The Czech racer scored a stunning pole for the Audi Sport Italia team despite being at his first experience at the venue. Driving an Audi RS5, he quickly got the right confidence with the track and edged team-mate Davide Stancheris. The Italian captured a second place completing a sweep of the front row for the German manufacturer.

The two Ingolstad-produced cars were followed by the BMW M3 of Max Mugelli, as the Team BMW Dinamic ace took full advantage of the car’s handling on the technical Roman venue. Second row was completed by Francesco Sini and his Chevrolet Camaro. The Italian is looking forward to more glory after his Race 2 podium at Monza.

The Solaris Motorsport-prepared American muscle car topped the R.R.T. Mercedes C63 AMG Coupé of Nicola Baldan, who ended up in front of BMW’s Maurizio Copetti and fellow Mercedes driver Diego Romanini, running for CAAL Racing.

The top-10 was rounded out by Dinamic’s Niccolò Mercatali (BMW M3), Ermanno Dionisio (Audi RS5) and Leonardo Baccarelli (Mercedes C63 AMG). The Audi Sport Italia man only entered the track late in the session due to some electronic issues on his race car.

The action is set continue on Race Day. Fans will be able to join the EUROV8SERIES show on-track thanks to the free tickets available on www.vallelunga.it. In addition to that, the people at home will also have the chance to enjoy all the action. Race 1, set to start at 9:55 in the morning, and Race 2, following at 15:00 in the afternoon, will benefit from the traditional worldwide TV coverage of the series and will be streamed live on WWW.EUROV8SERIES.COM.
