MEMO ROJAS: “It hasn’t been our best weekend so far, as far as rolling off the truck with a good car like we did in Long Beach, where the car was fast right away. Today we’ve been battling with finding front grip and for some reason the car is understeering a lot and everything we’ve done to fix it, it just doesn’t help it. It makes the rear end of the car loose. We’ve got a lot of work to do for tomorrow. We’d like to be in a better position for the start but it’s a long race and hopefully we can turn the car around for tomorrow.”

SCOTT PRUETT: “The biggest thing right now is just to see what Memo says when he gets back about the car,” Pruett said after watching from the Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates pit box. “We ran real strong this morning, so we’ll just see what he thinks about qualifying and make some changes.”

OZZ NEGRI: HOW DID THE CAR FEEL DURING PRACTICE AND QUALIFYING? “The car is understeering quite a bit, I would say. I never pushed as hard as I did at this quali. Turn 6 I was just taking it the way I thought I should and I actually ended up going off there and damaged the front a little bit. I really pushed as hard as I could. There was nothing else left in the car. I’m very surprised at the lap times, especially the 90 car. I knew the P2 cars were going to be better here. This is a track that suits them. We are going to work on some more stuff and give everything our beast has tomorrow.”

JOHN PEW: “I struggled a little bit with the car. We usually don’t here, so that was kind of a surprise. It’s a new package, so we’re getting used to the down force, but I think we made a lot of progress. I was surprised at some of the lap times in qualifying. I know Ozz was giving it one million percent as he always does and there was not one hundredth or thousandth of a second faster that car would go because Ozz got everything out of it. So we’ll put our heads together and see what we can come up with. The important thing is to have a good race car. (The P2 cars are) lighter, overall, and have more down force. We can accelerate better than they do, but they can corner better. This track (Laguna Seca) is all corners. That they can take those corners wasn't so apparent when I was out there in our Aero car. Probably because there was so much traffic; I couldn't see them.”
