Last year’s inaugural affair proved to be a "must see" for racing fans and families with a wild variety of events including the Celebrity "Dunk Tank," Zipline, Custom Car and Motorcycle Show, Kids Zone, Craft Beer Garden and ClusterTruck Food Trucks just to name a few.

The City of Speedway’s Main Street is set for a sensational list of entertainment venues featured in an opening weekend of the 2014 Grand Prix of Indianapolis and the 98th running of the Indianapolis 500-Mile Race set from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The "Festival" is free to the public and will have something for all ages Friday night. The event will take place "rain or shine."

The IFF "Festival" presented by Firestone Racing has secured an outstanding list of celebrities for the evening and many of them will participate in the entertaining CMC Global "Dunk Tank" exhibit including the irrepressible Robin Miller, the outspoken auto racing journalist of some 40 years, plus Indy Star’s Curt Cavin, Fox59’s Chris Hagan and Jennifer Ketchmark, WTHR-TV’s "Sports Guy," Rich Nye, 1070TheFan radio host JMV and the beautiful UFD Girls. Local Speedway dignitaries will be part of festivities along with many of the Indy 500 racers.

Many of the competitors from this year’s Grand Prix of Indianapolis and the Indianapolis 500 will be on hand for the charity event including 2013 Indy 500 pole sitter Ed Carpenter, whose family (with wife Heather and children Makenna, Ryder and Cruz) is hosting the fun Friday night affair.

Other drivers expected include 2013 Indy 500 winner Tony Kanaan, recent Long Beach winner Mike Conway, 2012 Verizon IndyCar Series champion Ryan Hunter-Reay, 2013 Verizon IndyCar Series champion Scott Dixon and Mid-Ohio winner Charlie Kimball.

Country singing star Carrie Lee will perform on the Ice Miller Music Stage Friday night and the Indiana Pacers Friday game will be shown on several big screens also. 2011 Indy 500 runner-up J.R. Hildebrand will be among the guest judges in 500 Automotive Power by Chevy Custom Car and Motorcycle Show.

All proceeds from Friday’s "Festival on Main" will go to the Indy Family Foundation, a charity that aids those in the motor sports community (regardless of the sanctioning body), who find themselves in financial need due to hardship caused by illness, injury or death.

A variety of events are schedule throughout the "Festival on Main" including Lids Foundation Kids’ Zone, Honda Robotic Demonstration, Allison Transmissions Family Zone, Barnes & Thornburg Sports Screen Sports Entertainment Stage; Indiana Grand Casino Craft Beer Gardens and Aerodine Composites Nine13sports bicycle area.

The "Festival on Main" is located in front of the Dallara IndyCar Factory and Sarah Fisher Hartman Racing, a few blocks from the legendary 16th and Georgetown entrance to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The custom car and motorcycle show will be displayed on Main Street in Speedway.
