Middle East Drivers Urged To Perform Simple Checks On Vehicles To Avoid Summer Mishaps

With temperatures set to soar over the next five months, drivers across the Middle East are being warned of the devastating effects extreme heat can have on their vehicles.

Bosch Automotive Aftermarket, the leading German supplier of automotive technology and services, is ensuring that a number of vital products are available for customers to help combat the heat.

The rise in temperatures negatively affects all systems and parts in a vehicle, especially tyres, batteries, cabin filters, generators and air conditioning systems. Andreas Bodemer, Vice President for Bosch Automotive Aftermarket, Middle East and Africa believes regular maintenance is the key to driving successfully in hot weather.

“The extreme heat environment can push a vehicle past its limits, and this year some drivers will find themselves stranded at the roadside in temperatures reaching 50°C if they don’t take the necessary precautions. There are a number of simple measures drivers in the region can apply in order to avoid costly repairs.

“Bosch has developed a range of comprehensive products for almost every car and truck in the world, to ensure the number of problems drivers experience in excessive temperatures is minimised. We do, however, warn all drivers on the road that they also need to take on the responsibility for car maintenance too,” said Bodemer.

With 71 Bosch Car Service and Express Car Service workshops in the Gulf region currently servicing approximately 140,000 vehicles annually, motorists never have to travel too far to have their vehicle checked to the highest international standards.

An operational air conditioning system is vital in hot Middle East weather to ensure drivers and passengers are kept cool inside their vehicle. Bosch’s fully automatic air-conditioning service guarantees repairing tasks are completed in a cost-effective and environmentally friendly manner.
With the air-conditioning system requiring more power than usual in the summer, the generator and battery life in your car can be shortened significantly and so regular checks are advised to avoid breakdowns.

Added Bodemer: "It takes very little time and money to make sure your car runs properly during the summer. Regular check-ups at one of the Bosch Services can make the difference to your journey. Bosch Service has gained an enviable reputation for quality and is constantly striving to offer the latest technologies and products available for the customers.”

A sudden spike in summer heat can trigger allergies from increased dust in the environment, which can lead to unforeseen and dangerous situations while on the road. Bosch’s Standard Cabin Filters absorb up to 100% of all pollen and dust particles and harmful substances ensuring clean air in the car. The region’s dusty climate does not only put the drivers’ health in danger, but also has proven a significant impact on spare parts such as generators and starters.

For cost reasons, many vehicle owners change their filters less frequently than recommended and in turn damage high-grade technical components of their vehicle which can jeopardise those inside the vehicle from harmful pollutants.

Tyres also require special care in warmer weather as the increased temperatures place added stress on them. Driving on under-inflated tyres not only affects the handling and braking of a vehicle, it also can cause tyres to overheat and increase the likelihood of a blowout.

Further encouraged by extreme road temperatures, Bosch Service has introduced the fully automatic NTF Nitrogen Tyre Filling System to reduce the risk of punctures on the road. Saving time and making a service centre more efficient and productive, the user-friendly machine can quickly fill four vehicle tires simultaneously.
