Bruno Junqueira and Duncan Ende Score Second TUDOR United Sports Car Championship Podium Finish in 2014 for RSR Racing

East Lansing, Michigan based RSR Racing captured their second podium finish in the first three Prototype Challenge events of the 2014 TUDOR United Sports Car Championship season. The duo of Bruno Junqueira and Duncan Ende scored a third place finish in the Continental Tire Monterey Grand Prix Powered by Mazda while teammates Alex Tagliani and Chris Cumming finished in fifth place overall.

Ende started the race in the 09 LinospressoUSA.com ORECA FLM09 and led laps before handing the car over to Junqueira for the dash to the checkered flag. After leading in the late stages, Junqueira's final pit stop for fuel and two tires kept the Brazilian driver in contention for the third place finish.

Junqueira was pleased with the performance of the car and the team over the entire weekend.

"The guys did a great job preparing the car for Duncan and I this weekend," said Junqueira. "The team gave us a balanced and fast racecar starting with wining the pole. Finishing on the podium was good for the team and helps us in the points."

Taking the green flag in the 08 AutoMaxUSA.com ORECA FLM09, Cumming ran in the top three for his share of the two-hour event in the hills of Monterey. After taking over to make the run to the finish, a speeding penalty and an on-track skirmish sent Tagliani and his Chevrolet powered prototype racecar to the rear of the class field.

A strategic call to bring Tagliani in for tires and fuel with fifty-three minutes remaining allowed the Canadian to charge hard and bring home the new chassis in the top-five.

The Montreal native takes several positives away from the weekend.

"The positive is we finished the first race of the year, scored some points and we have a full car to take to the next race," declared Tagliani. "It was a shame, getting punted by Ostella and the speeding penalty put us too far back to contend for the podium. The car was balanced, we were fast and continued to improve. Chris and I look forward to the next race."
