2014 Indianapolis GP: Andretti Autosport IndyCar Race Preview

Ryan Hunter-Reay, No. 28 DHL Honda

"The IMS Road Course is pretty fun, we had a good time on it (at the test); it's got a good mix of high speed sections and some slow speed. I think it will lend itself to some pretty good racing though, because it has some long straights with some pretty tight corners off the straights. We had a great weekend in Barber -- getting the win for the DHL team at the last race -- so we are hoping to keep the momentum going and would love to win the inaugural Grand Prix of Indianapolis."

Marco Andretti, No. 25 Snapple Honda
• Scored his 17th career podium with a second-place effort in the last round of competition
• Captured victory at the IMS Road Course in 2005 while competing in Indy Lights

"We're coming off a podium finish in Barber and would like to keep moving up from there. I raced the Road Course here in Indy Lights and won - the track is a little different now but we had a good test day for the Snapple car. Now we're looking to capitalize on our Barber finish, start building points and hopefully wins."

Carlos Muñoz, No. 34 Cinsay Honda
• Sits 12th in the championship points fight heading into the inaugural race weekend
• Grand Prix of Indy marks only his second permanent road course race in the Verizon IndyCar Series (Barber 2014, Indy 2014)

"I think it's going to be a great race for the fans because there is a long straight, and after that there are big braking points. It's for sure going to be a hard race. I think we have a pretty good car especially after our test day there last week; the conditions are going to be totally different because it's going to be much hotter. I want to finish the race without making any mistakes, and if we're good and don't make any mistakes, we're going to be for sure near the top spot. I'm really looking forward to start the month of May."

James Hinchcliffe, No. 27 United Fiber & Data Honda
• Has earned two consecutive front-row starts in the first three races of the Verizon IndyCar season
• Recorded three Verizon IndyCar Series victories during the 2013 season and currently sits 18th in points

"The Road Course here at IMS a really cool lay out - big credit to everyone at IMS who put in their input and helped lay the place out and get it done. I think it's technical, tough for us but great passing opportunities... I think it's going to be a great race and hopefully end with the United Fiber & Data car up front."

Franck Montagny, No. 26 Suretone Honda
• The Grand Prix of Indianapolis will mark only his third IndyCar start after competing for Andretti in 2009 (Sonoma) and Forsythe in 2008 (Long Beach)
• Has two top-eight starts and one podium finish (second place, 2008) in his previous two IndyCar starts
• Ran the Indianapolis Grand Prix in 2006 as part of the Super Aguri Formula 1 team

"It's quite nice and kind of new, but not everything new. I came (to the IMS Road Course) in 2006 with Formula 1 and am quite privileged to be part of the party here with Andretti. I'm looking forward to a good weekend."
