"It was frustrating yesterday and this morning - we were quite a ways off the pace. It's not a place I want to be, that's for sure. We've been working really hard, and credit to the team - we've been plugging away, putting our heads down. It really paid off this last session; I think we're in the ballpark now for sure. The United Fiber & Data/MAZDASPEED guys did a really great job with the car in between the first and last session, so I'm really happy with how it's working out. We just have to keep plugging away on these last little bits and try to get to the front. I'm happy with how the day ended for sure."

Zach Veach, No. 26 RePLAY XD

• Finishes the day fifth quickest over two practice sessions at 1:18.7807

"Overall, today was not exactly the day we wanted. We've been chasing a lot of issues with the car; I think right now we're missing some of the finer details. I'm very confident in our guys to figure out what it is. We're still struggling a little bit with the brakes, but we'll take a look tonight - we definitely improved from yesterday. I just want to thank my Andretti Autosport guys for working so hard to get me where I need to be, RePLAY XD for making this happen, and tomorrow is what counts. We'll come out and qualify, and I think we can go for the pole; we'll go for another win here in 2014."

Shelby Blackstock, No. 28 Starstruck

• Series sophomore completed his day sixth quickest out of the 19-car field at 1:23.6920 "At the end of our day, the last session didn't really go the way the No. 28 Starstruck team wanted it to. We're going to have to go back to the drawing board and see what we have to do to get up there with the frontrunners. I'm pleased with the performance of the team today, and hopefully we can make some changes overnight and have a good qualifying session. It might rain tomorrow, so that may throw a wrench into everyone's plans; we'll just have to see!"

Garett Grist, No. 27 Lander Property Management/Bell Helmets

• Rookie was P7 overall at 1:23.7165

"Overall, I think today was a good day. We weren't P1 on the time sheets, we were P4, but that doesn't matter just because we learned a lot. We made some changes that didn't work, went back to what we had and we went a lot faster the last session; I think if we had that car the whole session, we would have been able to get a better time because my last lap was the best time. The whole Lander Property Management/Bell Helmet Andretti Autosport crew is going to keep building on what we learned today for sure, and we'll be good for tomorrow."
