NASCAR Hall of Fame Celebrates the Month of Speed in Charlotte

Surrounding 10 days of racing at Charlotte Motor Speedway, the NASCAR Hall of Fame is offering many ways for fans and visitors to fuel up on fun during the month of speed. From Mother’s Day weekend activities celebrating the women of NASCAR to Voting Day and the Class of 2015 Announcement, guests will find high-octane happenings at the NASCAR Hall of Fame all month long.

The fun begins with a Race Viewing Party on Saturday, May 10 in the 278-seat High Octane Theater, where fans and their families can enjoy the May Kansas Race at Kansas Speedway on the big screen. The theater features comfortable high-back rocking seats, a 64-foot-wide curved projection screen with surround sound, and direct-from track, commercial free in-car video feeds of two drivers. Admission to the race viewing party is $10 for the general public and free for NASCAR Hall of Fame members.

Also on May 10 and just in time for Mother’s Day Weekend, guests are invited to The Women Behind the Legends, a moderated Q&A with Judy Allison (Bobby Allison’s wife), Pat Allison (Donnie Allison’s wife), Frances Flock (Tim Flock’s widow), Susan Baker (Buck Baker’s widow), Rebecca Moffitt (Richard Petty’s daughter) and Erin Crocker Evernham (Ray Evernham’s wife). This special event will take place in the Great Hall, where the current special exhibit, “Women in the Winner's Circle,” is on display through mid-June. “Women in the Winner’s Circle” celebrates six decades of women in racing from pioneers like Louise Smith, the first woman to compete in NASCAR, to current NASCAR driver Danica Patrick.

For an even deeper look at the past, present and future of NASCAR, fans can sign up for the newly introduced Racing Insiders Tour. This all-access, in-depth tour takes participants on an adventure through Charlotte’s racing community making stops at the NASCAR Hall of Fame, local race shops and other motorsports attractions in the area. The Racing Insiders Tour costs $90 for adults, $80 for children (ages 5-12) and $70 for NASCAR Hall of Fame members (all prices are subject to applicable taxes and service fees). This all-inclusive package covers admission costs to the participating locations.

On Wednesday, May 21, the NASCAR Hall of Fame Voting Panel will meet in Charlotte to determine the five members of the NASCAR Hall of Fame Class of 2015. Guests can join members of the Voting Panel, NASCAR legends and other fans for the Class of 2015 Announcement in the Great Hall, which will air live on NASCAR Race Hub on Fox Sports 1 at 4 p.m. ET.

To accommodate the adrenaline-pumping action and thousands of fans coming to town this month, the NASCAR Hall of Fame will also offer special hours beginning May 15. Below is a full list of operating hours in May:
