There will be live pit stop demonstrations, shop tours, games, prizes and more family fun! Fans can download a safety checklist at www.liftmaster.com/lmcv2/communityday/

Stars at Home: The Charlotte Motor Speedway (CMS) is considered a “home race” for many NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) teams and this Saturday’s Sprint All-Star race will be the 30th edition of the Million-Dollars-To-Win event. Although the race started in 1985 at CMS the event moved to Atlanta Motor Speedway (AMS) for one year in 1986, before returning back to CMS 1987, close to a majority of NSCS teams and drivers, where it has continued since.

Jamie McMurray and No. 1 Bass Pro Shops/National Wild Turkey Federation Team

Making History: CMS has been a favorable track for Jamie McMurray during his NSCS career. In 23 career starts in NSCS points races at CMS, he has eight top-10, five top-five and two victories, including his history-making win in just his second career start at CMS in Oct. 2002. McMurray has also completed 7,640 of 8,118 laps (94.1%) of competition leading 240 circuits around the 1.5-mile track.

All-Star Stats: Jamie McMurray will make his eighth Sprint All-Star Race appearance this weekend. McMurray became eligible for the 2014 All-Star event based on his Oct. 2013 victory at Talladega Superspeedway. The Jopln, Mo. native has average start of 13.9 and average finish of 15.9 in the million dollar payday race. His best finish of eighth place came in the 2013 race after winning the Sprint Showdown to transfer into the Sprint All-Star Race “Main Event”.

Gobble, Gobble: Bass Pro Shops will salute the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) this weekend at the Sprint All-Star Race with a special NWTF paint scheme on the No. 1 Chevy SS. Through vital partnerships with state, federal and provincial wildlife agencies, the NWTF and its members have helped restore wild turkey populations throughout North America, spending more than $412 million to conserve nearly 17.2 million acres of habitat. The NWTF is a national nonprofit organization that is the leader in upland wildlife habitat conservation in North America. Founded in 1973, the NWTF is headquartered in Edgefield, S.C., and has local chapters in every state.

Lucky Bass: The last time that the No. 1 team ran the Bass Pro Shops livery, Jamie McMurray drove the car to victory in the 2013 Sprint Unlimited at CMS to advance his way into the Sprint All-Star Race, where he started 20th and finished eighth.

Kyle Larson and No. 42 Target Team

Win and You’re In: Larson, who is currently a top-10 vote-getter for the Sprint Showdown driver’s fan vote, still must win Friday night’s Sprint Showdown at Charlotte Motor Speedway or the fan vote to punch his ticket for the Sprint All-Star Race. If Larson, who has a large following from his dirt track days and a growing following in NASCAR, doesn’t win the fan vote, he is no stranger to having to race his way into the main event through numerous starts in the B main at sprint car races.

Right at Home: In addition to racing only minutes from his current home and Chip Ganassi Racing Teams race shop, Larson has made himself right at home on NASCAR’s 1.5-mile tracks. Larson has adapted quite well to the 1.5-mile venues and has one top-five and two top-10 finishes in four races with an average start of 13.25 and average finish of 11 so far this season on 1.5-mile tracks.

A Shopping Bullseye: If you have made it to the race only to find out you’ve forgotten to pack a few necessities, there’s no need to worry. For all your last minute needs, and forgotten items, Target has all of the essentials and more. Target is located at 6150 Bayfield Parkway, Concord, NC 28027, and can be reached at (704) 262-6080. Call ahead and make sure they have what you need.
