Le Mans Return For Archie Hamilton With Ram Racing

Archie Hamilton (22, Basingstoke) will make his second appearance in the Le Mans 24 Hour race in June with Ram Racing in the #53 Ferrari 458 Italia. Archie’s co-drivers will be Johnny Mowlem and Mark Patterson and the trio will contest the legendary race in the LMGTE Am class.

In 2010, Archie raced at the Le Mans track in the Porsche Carrera Cup support race taking a podium finish. He then waited until 2013 to make his Le Mans 24 Hour race debut on the 60th anniversary of his grandfather, Duncan Hamilton, winning the event. Archie’s event in an LMP2 class Oreca came to a premature end with his team was unable to finish the race due to accident damage. Of the nine times that Duncan Hamilton contested the Le Mans 24 Hours, his win was on his third appearance. 2014 marks 60 years since Duncan’s fourth attempt when he finished second.

Archie Hamilton:

"Firstly I must thank Dan [Shufflebottom, Team Principal] at Ram Racing for this opportunity. I'm really thrilled to be heading back to Le Mans again and to be with such a great team is fantastic. I've spent a bit of time with them and I've already learnt a lot. To be working with Johnny is an opportunity in itself but Dan and the team are incredibly professional. Last year I cut my teeth with G-Drive at the track and we had great pace but unfortunately a team-mate crashing ended our race. This year I would love to finish and barring disasters I can't see why we shouldn't do well. I will do my best to train and prepare hard and do my job to the best of my ability to achieve that."
