Both the Teluru/JiR Webike team and rider Tetsuta Nagashima are looking forward to the racing weekend following a successful three-day test session at Mugello, which was attended by friend of the team and former HRC Honda rider Shinichi Itoh.

The Le Mans circuit was built in 1965 around the existing 24-Hour track and was re-introduced after safety improvements in 2000. The track is dominated by first gear corners that place the emphasis on late braking and hard acceleration, whilst rear end traction is also a key area. Sunday’s race will cover 26 laps of the 2.6 mile circuit.

Gianluca Montiron, Teluru team JiR Webike’s team principal.

“We were at Mugello for a three day test and we saw some improvement from Tetsuta. I think he is starting to understand how to be more practical on the Moto2 machine compared to national championship machine he was used to. He made many laps and his lap time was very good so he made a good impression out on the track. Le Mans should give difficult conditions I think. In Jerez we found very hot conditions, but I think in Le Mans we will find variable conditions – but this is world championship and everyone has to adapt to the conditions. This weekend our target remains to lower the gap to the leader at the end of the race, so lets go to Le Mans and try and improve things once more.”

Tetsuta Nagashima, Teluru team JiR Webike’s rider

“I have just completed a three-day test in Mugello where we made some drastic improvements to the chassis set-up of our Team JiR TSR-6 machine. It was great to have an experienced rider such as Shinichi Itoh here with us. He came all the way from Japan to help me and having the experience of a former HRC 500cc rider was invaluable, so I thank him very much. This will be my first visit to the Le Mans, Bugatti circuit and my first aim is to find the best lines around the corners and circuit as a whole. After four races now, I’m pretty much getting used to the feeling of my Moto2 machine so I want to begin setting myself tougher targets. Thankfully, with the good feeling of the chassis at the Mugello test, I’m hoping we can continue that feeling in Le Mans.”
