The 21-year-old spent most of his time on track simply trying to learn the layout of the Bugatti circuit and suffered a minor spill in the final session of the day. On combined times today Luis Salom was fastest with series leader Esteve Rabat in second place.

Tetsuta Nagashima, Teluru team JiR Webike rider: best lap 1m 40.984s

“Today was all about concentrating on getting as familiar with the circuit as possible as it’s the first time I’ve been here so I wanted to learn things as quickly as possible. I think I picked up the pace quite quickly in these two practices today, but there are lots of things I need to improve. I find it quite a difficult circuit and I also had a crash in the afternoon session which made me stay in the garage for some time. As the bike doesn’t quite turn as I want thanks to a lack of traction at the rear, we will try a different setting tomorrow and also I will try and change my riding style and hope for more improvement.”
