It was another hectic day for the teams with two qualifying sessions and two 100km races.

Percat emerged from the two 10 minute qualifying sessions 15th fastest for race 14 and 21st quickest for race 15.

In the opening 42-lap race (race 14) Percat held his position through the opening laps and moved up to 12th before pitting around mid distance for new tyres. He re-joined 23rd and eventually finished 21st in the HHA Racing V8 Supercar.

Scott McLaughlin scored Volvo’s first championship win ahead of Fabian Coulthard (Holden) and Ford’s Chaz Mostert. Fourth was Mostert’s teammate and V8 Supercars championship leader Mark Winterbottom, followed by Lee Holdsworth (Mercedes) and Craig Lowndes, the early race leader, who rounded out the top six.

The second 42-lap race saw Percat start 21st and by mid distance he had moved up to ninth, before pitting for tyres and dropping back to 24th. From there Percat worked his way back up the field to finish 20th.

Race 15 of the 2014 V8 Supercar Championship was won by Craig Lowndes, who scored his 97th V8 career win. Second went to Winterbottom, with current champion and Lowndes’ teammate Jamie Whincup. Fourth went to McLaughlin, then Coulthard and Mostert sixth.

Nick Percat: “Today certainly was a challenging one for us. After practising well yesterday it was disappointing not to qualify better and that set the scene for a tough afternoon. But we will re group overnight and be stronger tomorrow”.
