Despite the crash – his first non-finish of the year - the Teluru team JiR Webike rider’s best lap wasn’t too far from his qualifying pace and he did get 21 laps of experience before he pushed too hard and fell out of the race. The 21-year-old now looks forward to the Italian GP at Mugello, where he recently enjoyed three days of testing.

Today’s race was won once again by Finnish rider Mika Kallio who took the lead from Simone Corsi with eight laps to go. Corsi held on for second ahead of championship leader Esteve Rabat.

Tetsuta Nagashima, Teluru team JiR Webike’s rider: best lap 1m 39.872s

“I didn’t make a great start today, but I could catch up with some of the guys on the first lap and could stay comfortably at their pace. Unfortunately, the issue I had with the final part of the track we still hadn’t solved and I was losing time in that section during every lap. To make up for this I pushed harder in all the other sections of the track and this led to my crash. Thankfully we now know what this problem is and we will try and find the solution in time for the next grand prix. I have already tested at Mugello and learned the track well so I should be in good shape there. This coming weekend I will be participating in the All Japan Championship in Motegi, where we will try some different parts and hopefully this will have a positive effect on the forthcoming races.”
