33rd Michigan ARCA 200 Coming Friday, June 13; Live On Fox Sports 1

Live FOX Sports 1 coverage for this year's event begins at 5:00 p.m. eastern.

Located in the Irish Hills of Brooklyn, Michigan, the renowned two-mile superspeedway is about an hour away from ARCA's Temperance, Michigan-based home office, and has long been considered the tour's hometown superspeedway.

The ARCA brand, originally born in Toledo, Ohio, is very well known and established in the area, and the customer fan base is as big as it gets anywhere on tour.

Last year, Venturini Motorsports teammates Brennan Poole and Justin Boston battled in the closing laps. Without touching, Poole got Boston loose off turn two culminating with a spin from Boston, who later raced back to finish fourth. Poole eventual held back a late-race charge from Ryan Blaney to earn the hard-fought victory.

However, Boston, with Poole spotting, got some redemption this past weekend, earning his career-first ARCA victory Sunday afternoon at ARCA's hometown short-track, Toledo Speedway, holding off a late-race charge from Mason Mitchell.

ARCA's relationship with Michigan reaches back to 1980 when Joe Ruttman won the inaugural ARCA race event from the pole.

Other former Michigan ARCA winners over the decades include Bob Keselowski, Jeff Purvis, Tim Steele, Frank Kimmel, Kerry Earnhardt, Casey Mears, Reed Sorenson, Steve Wallace, Parker Kligerman, Ty Dillon and Chris Buescher, to name a few.

There hasn't been a repeat ARCA winner at Michigan since Steele pulled off the feat in 1996 and 1997.

Practice for this year's Michigan ARCA 200, which serves as part of the preamble for Sunday afternoon's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Quicken Loans 400, is from 1:00 p.m. through 3:30 p.m. Thursday, June 12. Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell is slated for Friday raceday morning at 9:30 a.m.

In addition to live coverage on FOX Sports 1, the event will feature live timing and scoring of all on-track activity at ARCAracing.com.
