Following the conclusion of the Firestone 600 and the Victory Lane ceremonies at approximately 10 p.m. CT, Texas Motor Speedway and Port-A-Cool® will play host to a free concert that will open with Cooper and culminate with Canada and The Departed on the infield grass located on the speedway's frontstretch. Cooper is scheduled to play a 30-minute set followed by an hour performance by Canada and The Departed.

Canada is well known as the former frontman for Cross Canadian Ragweed, who he played with for 15 years, selling over a million albums. In 2010, he formed The Departed with former Ragweed bassist Jeremy Plato, who is joined by drummer Chris Doege and keyboard player Steve Littleton.

In 2012, The Departed released their debut album of original material, Adventus. Last year, Canada released his solo debut, a live acoustic album called Some Old, Some New, Maybe A Cover Or Two, which features songs from throughout his storied career. The Departed are currently working on a new full-length album to be released in late 2014.

Along with new material, The Departed's live set is sure to please the legions of Cross Canadian Ragweed fans by including classics like "Alabama," "Dimebag," and "17" in their performance.

Cooper, the front man for the band that bears his name, has sold more than 50,000 albums and has garnered critical acclaim for his recordings and live shows, where he performs with an energy that captivates audiences in venues of all sizes.

The band, which provides an evocative mix of soul, blues, rock and pop, consists of Cooper, drummer James "Slim" Dunn, bassist Jay Sandford, keyboardist Cris Brenham and guitarist/back-up vocalist/violinist Matt Puckett.

Cooper has produced four albums, Live at the Pub (2006), Ignition (2007), Follow (2009) and Live at the Pub II (2011), that are highlighted by his signature songs such as "Texas To You" and "Crazy."
The concert is free, but to gain access fans must have a ticket to the Firestone 600. Individual concert tickets also will be sold for $10 and will be available at Gate 4 once the Firestone 600 race has concluded. Fans also will have the opportunity post-race to tour the Verizon IndyCar Series garage prior to the start of the concert.
