Stars Ready For Phillip Island Mini-Enduro

A number of Australia's leading racing car drivers will be in action this weekend at Phillip Island for the Porsche endurance round.

A round of the Carrera Cup, the event has attracted no less than drivers with Bathurst 1000 V8 Supercars experience.

The Porsche Carrera Cup is Australia's premier one-make motor sports category. The purpose built racing machines bring together many of this country's leading driver and this weekend at Phillip Island that will double with the annual mini-endurance race event.

14 drivers with V8 Supercars Bathurst 1000 experience, including five who drove in Perth this past weekend will be part of the two-driver races at Phillip island. Amongst the line-up is Porsche debutant Jason Bright, who will reacquaint himself withBrenton Ramsay who was his teammate in open-wheeled racing in the 1990s.

GRAB JASON BRIGHT : Phenix Motorsport

Championship leader Warren Luff will be teamed with Geoff Emery. His aim is to continue his form after being the driver to catch over at the opening races in Adelaide and Albert Park.

GRAB WARREN LUFF : No Second Chance/Phase 8 Racing

Last year was the first time a mini-enduro was run and it's quickly become the marquee event of the Carrera cup year.


The opportunity to also bring in V8 stars a bonus for teams as they develop the new type 991 GT3 race car.


This weekend's action at Phillip Island will be run over two separate one-hour races. As part of the rules the driver who starts the opening race, must be the one who finishes the second event.
