Variety Of IMSA Teams Testing At The Glen


Multiple IMSA racing teams are expected to the take to the famed twist and turns of Watkins Glen International this Wednesday and Thursday for testing in preparation for Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, June 26-29. This is a prime opportunity for fans to check out the FREE - Fans R1st Viewing Area for a sneak peek of the competition for Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen.

This week’s testing teams include: CORE Autosport, Falken Tire Motorsports, Risi Competizione, Riley Motorsports, Spirit of Daytona Racing, BMW Team RLL, 8Star Motorsports, AIM Autosport, and Extreme Speed Motorsports. Townsend Bell of AIM Autosport, who will compete in the Indianapolis 500, will be attendance with teammate Bill Sweedler to test their Ferrari 458 Italia on Wednesday, May 21. Other notable drivers participating include: Richard Westbrook and Michael Valiante of Spirit of Daytona Racing (fourth place finishers in the Rolex 24 at Daytona) and Ed Brown and Johannes van Overbeek of Extreme Speed Motorsports (winners of the Grand Prix of Monterey). Jay O’Connell, VP Technology of Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing (RLL) and part of the 1988 Cornell Racing winning team will also be in attendance.

The WGI Fans R1st Viewing Area offers fans the chance to witness the excitement of on-track action free of charge. Open to fans of all ages from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. during non-spectator events, guests are welcome to enjoy the sights and sounds of The Glen from the towering Argetsinger Grandstand.
