Caterham Racing Academy Update

Caterham Racing Academy has three drivers in action over the coming weekend. Will Stevens is in Monaco for round three of Formula Renault 3.5, it’s a home race for Seb Morris in Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup at Silverstone and Weiron Tan will be competing in Lausitzring, Germany in German F3.

Will Stevens heads into round three of the Formula Renault 3.5 Series currently fourth in the championship with 40 points on the board and is excited about the weekend ahead: “I'm really looking forward to Monaco. It’s my third time racing here and I'm confident of what we need to do and how to approach the weekend so I'll be pushing from the start and looking for the win. The track’s very different to anywhere else as you can't make any mistakes otherwise you’re in the barrier, so it takes a different approach to finding the limit, however I can't wait to get going and set off around the streets.”

Seb Morris will be competing in rounds three and four of the Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup this weekend at Silverstone.

The 18 year old Fortec Motorsport driver heads into his home race ninth in the championship with 20 points and is clear on his aims for the weekend: “I want to get solid points at the weekend to get the momentum rolling in the championship and build from there. We need to walk before we can run but the podium would be great and a win would be fantastic! We’ve already tested at Silverstone which has helped with my preparation and it’s a circuit I’m really looking forward to competing at so we’re aiming for a strong weekend.”

Completing the trio of Caterham Racing Academy drivers in action this weekend is Weiron Tan who goes to Lausitzring in Germany for the second of eight race weekends in the ATS Formula 3 Cup, taking place as part of the support programme for the ADAC GT Masters.

Weiron is currently sixth in the championship with 15 points: “It’s great to be back for the second race weekend of the season. Lausitzring is a relatively new track to me as I've only driven here once during testing. It’s a very technical circuit, similar to Rockingham in the UK which I know well, so I’m confident we’ll be scoring some valuable points this weekend. I’ve a great team behind me and I’ll be pushing for a podium finish.”
