2014 Monaco GP: Formula One F1 LIVE Qualifying Stream - Vergne, Toro Rosso Fastest!

By PaddockTalk.com Staff Writers

The Formula One F1 series has completed a crowded Q1 qualifying for the 2014 Monaco Grand Prix GP with Jean-Eric Vergne and his No. 25 Toro Rosso going fastest at 1:17.557. The fastest time of the weekend so far was set by Lewis Hamilton and his No. 44 Mercedes in practice session three - 1:16.758.

Nico Rosberg and his No. 6 Mercedes was second quick with Lewis Hamilton and his No. 44 third in the session.

Fernando Alonso and his No. 14 Ferrari was fourth on the timesheets with Jenson Button and his No. 22 McLaren rounding out the top five.

Marcus Ericsson and his No. 9 ended the session for all qualifiers as he hit Felipe Massa and his No. 19 Williams. Massa had clearly pulled over to let the Caterham driver past, but Ericsson was unable to complete a rudimentary manuever. Such is life at the back of the grid.

Knocked out in Q1 were: Max Chilton (Marussia), Marcus Ericsson (Caterham), Kamui Kobayashi (Caterham), Jules Bianchi (Marussia), Adrian Sutil (Sauber), and Esteban Gutierrez (Sauber).

Pirelli tyres this weekend - supersoft (red) & soft (yellow). Each driver must use each compound during the event. A driver reaching the top ten (Q3) will be required to start on the compound they qualified on.
