2014 NHRA: Brittany And Courtney Force Make History At Kansas Nationals

Brittany Force and Courtney Force made history at the 26th annual NHRA Kansas Nationals as they both raced to the No. 1 spots in their respective classes. It was Brittany’s first Top Fuel No. 1 and it came at a track she has raced throughout her career. Immediately after Brittany raced to the top of Top Fuel Courtney Force posted a track record ET and mph to move around her father John Force as the No. 1 qualifier in Funny Car. It was Courtney’s second No. 1 of the season.

With Brittany’s No. 1 effort Kristie Searl of Clarinda, Iowa, won a front loading washer and dryer as part of the BrandSource “Win with Force” promotion. Brittany’s ET was a career best 4.746 seconds at 329.75 mph, also a career best mark.

“Right now my focus is on getting my first win. It won’t matter if it is the 100th win or what race it is. I try and go in with the same mindset. I just have to do my job and this is any other weekend. I want to get into my race car and do my best and hopefully get my first win,” said Brittany Force, the 2013 NHRA Rookie of the Year.

While Brittany was being interviewed on ESPN2 Courtney Force powered the Traxxas Ford Mustang Funny Car down the track with a track record ET of 4.009 seconds at 322.96 mph, also a track record.

“To have grown up in the sport of NHRA and for Brittany and I to be No. 1 is crazy. We would both go out and watch our dad race and we both dreamed about getting out here and racing professionally. It is so cool to think that we are both out here running in Funny Car and Top Fuel dragster and to go to the top of the field with all these guys that are world champions out here. It is a little surreal and to do it at the same event,” added Courtney Force, a three-time Funny Car winner and the 2012 NHRA Rookie of the Year.

At each NHRA national event when a JFR team qualifies No. 1 a lucky fan that has signed up at the JFR “Win with Force” display located in Nitro Alley will be eligible to win the BrandSource No. 1 Qualifier Award, a front loading washer and dryer set. If a JFR driver wins the event a different fan will win the 55” flat screen TV Winner’s Circle Award from BrandSource. At the end of the season a grand prize winner of the “Win with Force” Sweepstakes will be awarded a 2014 Ford Escape S-Series.

Thanks to a winning season by John Force Racing in 2013, BrandSource gave away eight flat-screen televisions and nine washers & dryers to lucky fans. More than 24,000 race fans registered to win prizes at the “Win with Force” display in NHRA’s Nitro Alley. Another 91,000 fans signed up online at BrandSource.com.

Fans can sign up to win at the John Force Racing interactive midway display. This 53-foot trailer will be in the Nitro Alley area of every NHRA Mello Yello Series national event in 2014. The “Win with Force” promotion now includes JFR team partners Castrol, BrandSource, Ford, Traxxas and Mac Tools, all joining together to create an incredible promotion for the fans.

Fans can sign up to win exciting prizes at NHRA events http://www.brandsource.com/jfr-contest/ as well as at thousands of BrandSource stores across the country.
