Tenth place in yesterday’s race was already more than the team from Kirchanschöring had expected with the SaReNi Camaro GT3 around the tight and twisty Lausitzring. However, race 2 on Sunday afternoon would see an even better result.

Tomas Enge spooled off an excellent opening stint and took a save top 10 position at the beginning. The Czech used the strength of the American muscle car on the long straights and overtook one competitor after the next. Enge stayed in the SaReNi Camaro GT3 cockpit till the last possible second, before handing over the car in sixth place to Albert von Thurn und Taxis.

In spite of a small delay at the pit stop, von Thurn und Taxis returned to the track in the top 10 and maintained his tenth position throughout his stint. Just before the end of the race, the Regensburg racer had to defend his position from ex-Formula 1 driver and GT World Champion Markus Winkelhock, which he successfully did. An accident between two rivals moved the Reiter Engineering developed SaReNi Camaro GT3 up two more positions to finish 8th at the chequered flag.

As a result, Tomas Enge / Albert von Thurn und Taxis scored the best result to date for the SaReNi Camaro GT3 in the ADAC GT Masters series and took points in both races on the weekend.

"I’m absolutely delighted for the whole team. Over the last few months the guys and girls have hardly had a day off and very little sleep. I’m afraid it will continue like this. The Camaro is only a few tenths of a second off the podium and this will be our goal for 2014. It is very motivating to work with such a team for whom the words ‘give up’ don’t exist," said Hans Reiter, owner of Reiter Engineering, in praise of the entire SaReNi Camaro racing team.
