Isaac Tutumlu and Barzani Racing Team are preparing great novelties for the second round of the International GT Open taking place at the Autódromo do Algarve, scheduled on June 5-8 at the Lusitanian race track. After competing in the season opener at Nürburgring with a Porsche 997 GT3 R fielded by Autorlando Sport, Tutumlu and Barzani Racing Team have reached an agreement with Selleslagh Racing Team to drive a Chevrolet C6/ZR1, one of the most competitive vehicles in the series, Maxime Soulet from Belgium shall team up with Tutumlu at the wheel of the American car, a first-level duo.

Absolutely enthusiastic with new expectations ahead, Tutumlu comments “it is a source of great pride to me driving a Chevrolet Corvette entered by Selleslagh Racing Team, a squad of great prestige. After Nürburgring, and still having fourteen races ahead, we decided to change the car. It is a winner car as proved in Germany. And teaming up with Maxime Soulet, leader of the series at the moment, it is possible to achieve victories almost from the very start. It is important to notice SRT is a factory-backed team, with support from Pratt&Miller, and it is an absolute guarantee. It shall be the very first time for a Kurdish driver competing with an American car, and the USA has always been an allied nation for Kurdistan, so it is great. We have chances to take part in other races with SRT, such as the 24 hours of Dubai and the 24 hours of Daytona”. Tutumlu. Barcelona-born driver finished by saying a few words in praise of Autorlando Sport: “To race with them was to feel at home. Not by accident we won the Spanish Iber GT championship last year. Unfortunately the 911 GT3 R model is less competitive now, by lack of development from Porsche. But I wish to thank everybody at Autorlando Sport for this period of my career with them”.

The Autódromo do Algarve is Tutumlu´s cup of tea as he finished on the podium in race two last year after his 4th place in race one.
