Tetsuta And Teluru Team JiR Webike Return To Mugello

Young Japanese rider Tetsuta Nagashima is returning to Mugello for this weekend’s Moto 2 world championship race.

The 21-year-old is familiar with the circuit layout, having recently enjoyed a three-day test at the circuit with the help and input of former 500cc Grand Prix HRC rider Shinichi Itoh.

The circuit itself is owned by Ferrari and located in the Mugello valley, nestled between the Tuscan hills. Constructed in 1974, the circuit is famous for the fast curves and the incredible corners which means Mugello is a unique challenge to riders. Sunday’s race will cover 21 laps.

Gianluca Montiron, Teluru team JiR Webike’s team principal.

"The new project we have takes time as we are developing young riders. We need to make as many kilometres in testing as possible on our Moto2 machine. Thanks to the test done at our nominated test-track of Mugello we hope to make a little step forward with Japanese rider Tetsuta Nagashima. During last week he tested the new TSR machine during the Japanese national championship therefore let’s see what our home GP will offer to us. Our target is to be close to the fast lap times of our former riders who were battling hard with the competition and this should represent the first phase of progress for Nagashima.Moto2 is confirmed now as a top competitive category where two seconds cover 33 riders in qualifying and this shows us how the level of the machines are comparable and how the riders have to make the difference. I hope Tetsuta enjoys Mugello and works hard to do us proud this weekend.”

Tetsuta Nagashima, Teluru team JiR Webike’s rider.

"I have tested in Mugello a little while ago, and found it a very exiting track with a nice layout and I really enjoyed riding even if it's also quite technical. We had found a good setting there and I'm sure that this will be our big advantage for the upcoming weekend. I’ve also participated in the All Japan Championship race last weekend at Motegi, mainly for the purpose of testing some new parts, so that I'm also quite in good shape physically. It will be one of the most important races for us as it is the home race for the team so I would like to give extra effort this weekend.”
