Iracing Forms Partnership With Phil Parsons Racing

Typically recognized as an 'underdog' in NASCAR, Phil Parsons Racing and driver Josh Wise have been able to break the stereotypical mold this year with the support of the online community. With successful crowd sourcing efforts on reddit behind funding for three primary race sponsorships of the No. 98 Chevrolet SS and the election of Wise into the Sprint All-Star race, Phil Parsons Racing has formed another internet-based partnership. This time, the "little team that could" will partner with the world's premier motorsports racing simulation, iRacing. From May 27, 2014 through June 30, 2014, both new and current iRacing subscribers will have the opportunity to support Wise and Phil Parsons Racing through select purchases on the online racing simulation site.

"I am very excited about the partnership between iRacing and Phil Parsons Racing," commented Wise. "I have used iRacing for the past six years as a training tool for my weekly NASCAR races because of how accurate their simulation and track layouts are. It has been such an awesome year for us with so much fan support on these projects, and this is another great way for fans to not only get a 60 percent discount on their membership, but also for the proceeds to go toward helping us build our program at PPR. It is also great to be continuing our relationship with reddit.com and its subreddits. Reddit was the internet's best-kept secret for me until I was introduced to it earlier this year. It has been really fun to have fans so involved in our race program from the ground up, and I feel like this is another weekend where everybody can be a part of this and have fun."

To support Phil Parsons Racing, new subscribers will be able to purchase a three-month membership for a discounted rate of $12 by utilizing the promotional code PR-JoshWise98. iRacing will donate 90 percent of the revenue from the new subscriptions directly to Phil Parsons Racing.

Current subscribers will have the opportunity to purchase the virtual iRacing Sprint Car similar to the one that Wise used to win four championships en route to NASCAR's top division. Seventy-five percent of all Sprint Car sales revenue will benefit Phil Parsons Racing.

"I can't thank everyone at iRacing enough for putting together this great partnership and program to help support Josh Wise and Phil Parsons Racing," commented team owner Phil Parsons. "We've gotten so much support through reddit and the online community with our other efforts this season and we hope this one is no different. We're looking forward to kicking off the partnership this weekend in conjunction with our race at Dover [Del.] International Speedway. Hopefully we will see a lot of new iRacing users competing against Josh in the upcoming weeks, and we look forward to hosting two special guests at a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event later this season."

Any new iRacing subscriber that uses the promotional code PR-JoshWise98 between May 27 and June 30, 2014, will be entered in a drawing to win two VIP passes for a once-in-a-lifetime race experience at a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event. Existing iRacing subscribers may also be entered in the drawing by simply purchasing the iRacing virtual Sprint Car. Current members can also be entered in the drawing by referring new members to iRacing. Simply have the new member enter the current member's email address in the referral box when signing up. The winner will be provided with two VIP passes to any 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race of their choice, where they will be guests of Phil Parsons Racing. Travel and accommodations are not included. For more information about how to support Phil Parsons Racing and Wise through iRacing, visit iRacing.com/Josh-Wise-promo.

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will take on "The Monster Mile" as competitors race at Dover (Del.) International Speedway this weekend. Coverage of the FedEx 400 benefiting Autism Speaks will be broadcast on FOX, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio beginning at 1 p.m. EDT on Sunday, June 1.
