Ombra To Tackle Vdev Endurance Challange With Cordoni-Zanuttini-Montermini

After successful weekends in Nürburgring (2nd place in GT Open season opener for Costantini-Sicart) and Monte-Carlo (6th place overall and best rookie for Maurizio Bianco in the Classic F3 Grand Prix), Ombra Racing is ready to take on a new challenge.

This weekend the Italian team will be back on track at the renowned Circuit Paul Ricard to take part in the third VdeV GT Endurance Challenge round, a three-hour race that will put both machinery and staff to the test. For the squad's first taste of endurance racing, Ombra will boast an unprecedented line-up, with team regular Mario Cordoni being flanked by Marco Zanuttini and Andrea Montermini. A very quick gentleman driver, Zanuttini in the last few years raced successfully both in the Ferrari Challenge and the International GT Open: he has chosen this event as his first racing commitment of the season. Montermini, meanwhile, would need no introduction at all. F1 driver in the 90s, the reigning GT Open champion is one of the most accomplished GT Racers in the world, with 5 titles in the last seven seasons.

Davide Mazzoleni (Team Manager): "In hour third year of GT racing we thought that it was time to get more involved in endurance events, and this 3-hour race in Le Castellet provides us a perfect opportunity to step-in. We are all very focused and ready to rise up to the challenge. To best prepare for the race we completed a day of testing in Franciacorta on Tuesday and I'm delighted to say that car, staff and drivers performed flawlessly. Zanuttini confirmed that he's among the quickest gentlemen in the business, while Montermini was quick straight out of the box and provided extremely detailed feedback. I'm really happy to have the opportunity to work with him, he's a very special driver ".
