Ibiza Aims For Return To Winning Form In Monza

After a four weeks break, Auto GP is ready to get back on track for the fourth round of the 2014 campaign. After race weekends in Marrakech, Le Castellet and Budapest, the series will head to one of the circuits that made motorsport history, Monza's Autodromo Nazionale.

Widely renowned as the "temple of speed", the Italian venue is the fastest track of the Auto GP calendar, its long straights allowing speeds well in excess of 300 kph when it comes to powerful cars as the Zytek-powered Lolas.

On such a renowned stage, the home track for Giuseppe Cipriani and many among the team's staff, Ibiza Racing aims to get back to the form that in this season's maiden event in Morocco allowed the Italian entrepreneur to clinch a deserved podium finish.

After a disappointing weekend at Hungaroring the team got back to the workshop to analyze the data from the Magyar round, and worked on setup solutions aimed at maximizing the car's performances on low drag layouts as Monza's, hoping to repeat the same results of last year. In 2013, at their maiden appearance in the championship, Ibiza clinched an amazing win in Race 1, overcoming the lack of experience in the series thanks to a top-notch job from their experienced and skilled technical staff.

Modesto Benegiamo (Team Manager): "Monza is always a bit special for us. It's my home race, as I live quite close to the circuit, and as Giuseppe and most of the team staff are Italian, as well as many of our sponsors, it's probably the most awaited round of our season. This, as you can imagine, means that we really want to do well, and we worked hard to prepare our car in the best possible way. As always the competition will be fierce, but already last year we proved that our team has everything it takes to challenge for the win, and we will do everything we can to repeat that result. After our podium finish in Marrakech bad luck and some issues hampered us in the next couple of rounds, but we feel ready to hit back"
