FedEx 400 Preview: The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series heads to Dover (Del.) International Speedway for Sunday’s FedEx 400 benefiting Autism Speaks. The 400-lap event at the “Monster Mile” will be Hamlin’s 17th-career start at the high-banked, concrete oval. He has posted five top-10 finishes at Dover, including a career-best fourth-place result in May 2010. He has recorded two poles, including in last year’s FedEx 400, and has led a total of 143 laps at the track. Hamlin finished 20th in his most recent trip to Dover last October.

Fans Ride Along: Hamlin will drive a special #11 FedEx Freight/Autism Speaks Toyota at Dover this weekend. Race fans were able to get their names on the car, in the signature blue puzzle piece design, by donating a minimum of $11 to Autism Speaks. For a closer look at the special design, visit www.fedexracing.com/fedex400.

Special Delivery: The FedEx Racing Team will make a special delivery this weekend at Dover. As part of FedEx’s commitment to supporting individuals and families affected by autism, and in support of the third Autism Speaks ‘Day at the Races’ event at Dover, FedEx is donating autism-specific toys from Toys“R”Us to the hospitality area at Dover International Speedway. Prior to the race, Denny Hamlin and #11 FedEx team members will load a FedEx truck full of toys for the donation. Toys“R”Us and the Toys“R”Us Children’s Fund have collaborated with Autism Speaks and the National Lekotek Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to making play accessible for children with disabilities, to identify its annual list of “Ten Toys That Speak To Autism.” The list is comprised of toys that can help children with autism develop language, creativity and social skills, while playing alongside siblings and friends.

FedEx Office – Closest to Dover International Speedway: 132 Elkton Road, Newark, DE 19711, (302) 368-5080

Harrisburg, Pa., Along for the Ride in Dover: During the FedEx 400 benefiting Autism Speaks at Dover International Speedway, the b-post of the #11 FedEx Freight Toyota will feature the call letters “HSG,” recognizing the FedEx Freight service center in Harrisburg, Pa. The Harrisburg service center serves customers in South Central Pennsylvania.

How has Dover become a track that the #11 team has increased its success over the years?

“Dover was always one of our worst tracks on the schedule up until a few years ago. Really, when Darian (Grubb, crew chief) came over, he brought fast cars and ones that handled really well on Dover, which is a tough place. And, with it being the FedEx 400 this weekend, we have a lot of great initiatives going on to help kids and families affected by Autism. Autism Speaks does a great job raising awareness around the country, and we’re happy to play a small part in that throughout the race weekend.”
