Monza, Practice 2: Andrea Roda (Virtuosi UK) Sights On Pole

Andrea Roda, driving for Virtuosi UK, logged the fastest lap of practice 2 at Monza, in the fourth round of the 2014 Auto GP season. The Como-based racer posted a lap time of 1’37”697 to top Zele Racing’s rookie Cristof von Grunigen by just one tenth of a second. In third, Kevin Giovesi left a positive impression for Eurotech. Euronova’s Yoshitaka Kuroda took fourth despite a small hiccup that slowed him down during the session, edging fellow countryman and team-mate Shinya Michimi.

After leading Practice 1, Hungarian Tamas Pal Kiss finished in sixth for Zele Racing. Four Italians rounded out the top-10: the Super Nova pairing of Michela Cerruti and Francesco Dracone topped Michele La Rosa (MLR71 by Euronova) and Loris Spinelli (Eurotech), who brought out a red flag in the closing stages with a spin.

The two qualifying segments will be held at 17:05, while the 17-lap long Race 1 will be starting at 15:35 on Saturday. Race 2, scheduled on a 15-lap distance, will round out the weekend at 11:20 on Sunday.

Thanks to the decision taken by the weekend’s promoters, the access to the circuit will be free enabling the fans to join their favorite drivers and see the Auto GP cars in first person.
