Avf And Amberg Steadily In The Top Ten On Day 1 In Spa-Francorchamps

From a tight street track to the reign of fast sweepers: Monte-Carlo and Spa-Francorchamps couldn't be more different from one another, but that didn't mean that much for AVF. After enjoying a very positive weekend in Monaco, with a deserved P6 finish for Zoel Amberg, the Spanish team owned and managed by Adrian Vallés kept momentum on day 1 of the Belgian F.Renault 3.5 weekend.

The fourth round of the championship started with an half-wet Free Practice session that saw Amberg shine thanks to a quick and steady pace that after 50' of running was worth seventh place. In the afternoon session, held under a warm sun and on a completely dry track, the Swiss talent was quick once again and managed to finish in the top ten, another good performance that bodes well for tomorrow.
Beitske Visser, meanwhile, focused on getting acquainted with the car's performance on one of the most challenging venues in motorsport. Improving lap after lap the Dutch rookie finished the morning session in P18, and in the afternoon session she boasted an amazing progression improving her morning laptime by 3.2 seconds.

Zoel Amberg: FP1 - P7; FP2 - P10
"I'm happy with what we achieved today. The car is quick and well balanced, and even if we still have some work to do we are definitely heading in the right direction. My driving can improve too, at the moment I'm losing something in Sector 2 and I need to find the confidence to push a bit more to make up some time".

Beitske Visser: FP1 - P18; FP2 - P19
"I had already driven in Spa with the F.Adac, but in this car it's a different story and well... it's amazing! Still, that doesn't mean it's easy. Getting to the outright limit is something I couldn't do today, I'll need more time to achieve that, and with the team we've also found some setup solutions that should make my job easier. Hopefully improving both the car and my driving we should be able to make a good step forward tomorrow".
