Tim Gajser Extends MX2 Deal With Honda Racing Corporation

Honda Racing Corporation has signed a new two-year deal with Tim Gajser that will see the 17-year-old Slovenian continue as an HRC rider in the MX2 class of the FIM Motocross World Championship.

HRC will provide Gajser with full technical support and works Honda CRF250RW bikes for the 2015 and 2016 seasons as the youngster continues his impressive ascension through the ranks of the feeder class to the MXGP series.

The deal was signed last night at the MXGP of France, just one week after Gajser stepped onto the MX2 podium for the first time at the MXGP of Great Britain, Matterley Basin.

Gajser is widely considered one of the hottest young prospects in the highly-competitive MX2 category, and after a great deal of interest from other manufacturers, HRC are delighted that he will remain on a factory Honda CRF for at least another two seasons.

Tim Gajser, No.243
“I’m really pleased to have signed again with HRC. Honda is one of the biggest factories in motocross and I’m really happy to have this chance to stay with them. I really like working with HRC and we’re working in a very good way together. The bike is improving with every race, and it feels like a family here. The bike is great, so easy to ride and I really enjoy being on it. My goal is to win a World Championship with Honda, and I believe this deal will let us do that.”

Roger Harvey, HRC General Manager – MXGP
“I’m delighted that we have agreed a new deal with Tim to retain him as a works HRC rider in the MX2 class of the Motocross World Championship. He’s one of the most impressive talents in MX2, and at only 17-years-old also one of the youngest. He’s getting stronger with every race and showing the pace, the maturity and the experience required to run at the front, as he demonstrated with his maiden MX2 podium in Great Britain last weekend. Really we’re only scratching the surface of his potential at the moment and as we continue to nurture his talent and provide him with works CRF250RWs and factory support, I believe he will emerge as the leading talent in this category and it won’t be long before he is winning on a Honda. I and everyone at HRC are very pleased that we will continue our strong relationship with him until at least 2016.”
