Important win for Toni Bou at the Italian Grand Prix, where he secured the victory in a high-level round that allowed the several times World Champion to show his best side. Bou had a complicated start, but as the race progressed he showed his style and technique. In the first lap he took the lead of the round –with 19 points– while in the second he secured the win with an excellent score –only 7 points– which he was even able to improve in the last pass: 6 points.

With this victory, his second of the season after the one he achieved in the second day in Australia, the Repsol rider recovered the lead of the World Championship, with a one-point advantage over Adam Raga. Takahisa Fujinami reached mid-season with an unsatisfactory performance, as he finished sixth after some mistakes in the zones and ended with 96 points. The Japanese rider of the Repsol Honda Team hopes to be back on the podium in the second half of the Championship.

The Trial World Championship will have a break for one month before the next round, the Belgian Grand Prix that will be held at Comblain-au-Port next July 13th.

Marc Marquez

Toni Bou 1st 32 points
"Today we had a very high-level trial. I didn’t start well, with 3 mistakes until zone six, some of them due to bad luck. But I started to recover because the zones allowed it. I’m still not comfortable with the rules, it takes a bit, but I was able to ride well in the second lap and finished very well in the last one. I felt physically recovered and more comfortable than in previous races. We achieved our objective: to recover the lead, though I know that the next races won’t be easy."

Takahisa Fujinami 6th 96 points
"In the end, when I thought that a more 'natural' race would benefit me, I found myself like last week. I didn’t had enough confidence and I started to fail. I think I need to change something. I wasn’t motivated and I made some ridiculous mistakes. Luckily, we have a whole month ahead to try and improve".
