Round 3 of Formula DRIFT debuted at Homestead Miami Speedway after spending previous years in Palm Beach. With it’s ever growing fan base, they took to Miami to enhance the experience for everyone involved.

Gittin started off near the top with a second-place qualifying position making for a back-to-back top five qualifying start this year. Another first place podium finish makes for two victories this season for Gittin and his second as team owner.

"It feels really amazing to be here and come to a brand new track and work with my team to get my Monster Energy Nitto Tire Ford Mustang RTR on rails," said Gittin. "To be able to hit every mark and be able to compete with some of the best drivers in the world feels awesome. Back to back wins is just amazing. We’re working hard and it just feels good that it’s paying off and I’m just pumped."

Gittin remains in second place in the point standings, but continues to narrow the gap between himself and first place keeping his run for the championship alive.

Justin "JTP" Pawlak qualified eighth with a run he described as not his best of the weekend. After making some changes with his Falken Tire team on Saturday his runs improved during practice.

"I felt really good going into the top 32 and had a good battle with Jeff Jones moving onto top 16," said Pawlak. "(During top 16) I felt I threw down a great lead run against Robbie Nashida and had a big advantage due to him straightening out behind me."

The Formula DRIFT judges called for a "One More Time" battle between Pawlak and Nashida, and after another round of lead and follow tandem runs, the judges deemed Nashida the winner of that round.

"I'm thankful for all the hard work that RTS put into the car this weekend and with how good the car felt," Pawlak said. "I'm looking forward to Round4 in New Jersey in just a few weeks to again get behind the wheel of the Falken Tire Ford Mustang."

Pawlak continues to sit at fifth place in the point standings after Round 3 in Miami.

Formula DRIFT will resume in Wall, New Jersey for another year at Wall Speedway for Round 4 | The Gauntlet.
