Pro_cee'd GT Maintains Kia's Safety Story

Kia's exciting new pro_cee'd GT has again proven that style and safety live happily together under the Kia banner with a five-star result in the latest round of ANCAP testing.

Just days after winning a prestigious Good Design Australia Award for its stunning looks and overall design the pro_cee'd GT scored a 36.19 out of 37 rating from the ANCAP engineers.

The five-star result continues Kia's commitment to introducing only maximum safety vehicles to the Australian market.

Kia Motors Australia Chief Operating Officer Damien Meredith said the commitment to safety was a core of Kia's commitment to the Australian buyer.

"We know that the majority of our buyers are the average Australian family and we know how important safety is when it comes to their family," Mr Meredith said.

"As with all our new models we fully anticipated this outcome, but it is always nice to have the official stamp of approval. We have said previously that Kia's intention is to produce all five-star cars and we will not be stepping away from that position."

In announcing the results of the test, ANCAP said that the pro_cee'd GT passenger compartment held its shape well in the frontal offset test with pedal and steering wheel displacements well controlled, adding that driver and passenger contact with the airbags was stable. All doors remained closed during the impact and could be easily opened afterwards.

In the side impact testing the occupant protection for head, chest, abdomen and pelvis all received maximum scores.

For the pole test pro_cee'd scored the maximum two points while whiplash protection was rated as good, the highest level outcome.

With 5-star safety, 5-year unlimited kilometre warranty and 5-year capped price servicing Kia's range of stylish award-winning cars stands tall in the new car marketplace.
