The Detroit Grand Prix has a long racing history. Formula One began racing through the downtown streets in 1982. Over the years, names like Andretti, Fittipaldi, Rahal, and Senna have all won in the Motor City. In 1992, the race moved to its present location on the 982-acre picturesque Belle Isle Park in the middle of the Detroit River. ZF Race Reporter Tony Rizzuti talks with Bud Denker, chairman of the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix, about the track's history and the improvements to Belle Isle park. Continental Tire is the official tire of IMSA and the spec tire for three of the four classes in the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship. The Prototype (P), Prototype Challenge (PC) and GT Daytona (GTD) classes, all race on Continental tires. To be competitive, teams need to out engineer their competitors to maximize the response of the race tire. In the second video, Rizzuti interviews Kacey Berberich, Continental Tire development engineer, about how the tires perform at a track like Belle Isle. The third video features ZF employee Carlos Aguilar, of Mexico City. He enjoyed the opportunity to come to the Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix to interview Action Express driver Joao Barbosa about how he prepares for a race and what he needs to do to become a Championship winning driver. Fans who would like the opportunity to be the next ZF Fan Reporter can go to the ZF.com website, search Fan Reporter, and submit their question. ZF Motorsports will produce the video series at three more races this season: Watkins Glen, Indianapolis, and Road Atlanta.
