Mooresville, NC
(June 3, 2014) - Midland, Texas native, Tyler Young is riding high as he heads home to the "Lone Star State" for Friday night's 33rd annual WinStar World Casino & Resort 400 at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth. After a career-best, 17th-place finish in last Friday's Lucas Oil 200 at Dover (Del.) International Speedway, Young, a 2014 Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender, looks to make his third start at the 1.5-mile oval, the site of his previous best Truck Series finish.

A penny for your thoughts: Tyler Young, Driver, No. 02 Chevrolet Silverado -
What does it mean for you to race at home in front of all your friends and family at Texas Motor Speedway?
"Growing up, there were not a lot of race tracks in Texas, so it's kind of outside the norm when you think about growing up racing there. We had three tracks within eight hours of where I grew up in Midland, but they were all dirt, so I grew up racing at Odessa Champion Motor Speedway and WTKA Kart track. Although I'd never raced at Texas Motor Speedway until I got into the Truck Series, I grew up coming to the Sprint Cup races, dreaming about racing there one day. I'm lucky to be one of the few that have seen those dreams become a reality. To be able to come back here on a professional level with all my family and friends in the grandstands is a neat experience and I hope to have a strong run for them and our partners on Friday."

Texas Motor Speedway is one of the few tracks you have experience at. How will this help you in Friday night's race?
"Texas is a fast, high-banked track with multiple grooves and a lot of character. I've made two prior starts there and until last weekend at Dover, last spring's Truck Series race at Texas was my best finish. So, you could say I'm looking forward to unloading there this weekend. I think we will be pretty good. Unlike last weekend's race at Dover, where we had limited track time and I had to learn the track basically during the race, I will know what I have to do when we unload on Thursday at Texas. I hope to be able to improve on what I already know with my past track experience and build on the momentum we have going into this weekend."

Tyler Talks Texas:
Texas is commonly known for the Alamo, football, longhorns and... food! As a Texas native, Tyler will take you to Watuga, Tex., to show you some Texas-sized grub in a Conoco gas station, but don't expect the usual convenience store food. Chef Point Café is an upscale, landmark restaurant serving up 5-star food including tenderloin, salmon, duck, lobster bisque and the best bread pudding! Not only will you get an inside look of this one-of-a-kind dining experience, which was recently featured on the Food Networks Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, you will get a behind the scenes look of the driver of the No. 02 Chevrolet Silverado. Tune-in to the "NCWTS Setup" pre-race show on Friday, June 6 between 8:30-9:00 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1. For more information on Chef Point Café visit: ChefPointCafe.org

Lone Star Stats:
Tyler Young is a native of the Lone Star State - the 23-year-old is from Midland, Texas, about 300 miles from Texas Motor Speedway
Texas Motor Speedway is one of only 10 tracks on the 2014 NCWTS schedule that Young has experience racing on
Young has two previous starts at the 1.5-mile oval in 2013 finishing 19th (June) and 24th (November)

Chassis History:
Young's Motorsports will unload chassis 008 for Friday night's WinStar World Casino 400K at Texas Motor Speedway. This chassis was built new, in-house, for the 2014 season and was last seen at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway in May. In the chassis track debut, Young was running inside the top-20 when his engine expired just prior to the halfway mark in the 134-lap event.

Rookie Race:
Following a career-best finish in the Lucas Oil 200 at Dover, Young remains third in the 2014 Sunoco Rookie of the Year battle, but the solid run allows the 23-year-old driver to gain momentum on second-place Mason Mingus and the deficit is now a mere four points.

Rearview Mirror - Dover:
After rain reduced track time for the NCWTS on Thursday, NASCAR opted to cancel Friday's qualifying session at Dover in favor of additional practice time to prepare for the Lucas Oil 200. As a result, the starting grid for the race was set based on the 2014 owner point standings and the No. 02 Chevrolet Silverado rolled off 27th. With minimal track time prior to making his debut at the "Monster Mile," Young utilized the scheduled 200 laps during the race to find his rhythm, and adapt to the concrete surface. As a result, he was able to muscle his way through traffic to bring home a career-best 17th-place finish.

Truck Series Fast Facts:
2014 mark's Young's first full-time season in the NCWTS
Young has made 16 starts in the series since 2012
First start - Rockingham (2012)
Best start - 13th, Bristol (2012)
Best finish - 17th, Dover (May, 2014)
