After Alex Rins’ podium finish at the Italian Grand Prix last weekend, the Repsol rider and his teammate, Alex Marquez, were back at the Mugello circuit today to continue the evolution of their Moto3. The day of testing was very productive, but ended early for Marquez as a result of a crash in the second session. He was taken to hospital, where doctors have ruled out any injury and will keep him under observation overnight.

Working once again with the direct support of HRC, Rins and Marquez tested new parts for their Honda NSF250RW bikes. Rins closed the day having undertaken 50 laps –more than 262 kilometers– and took Marquez had put in 25 before his crash in the second of the four available sessions. The Moto3 class split the day with the Moto2 category. Marquez’ fall at Turn 7 saw him taken to hospital as a precaution, but he is expected to be discharged tomorrow morning.

Both riders are feeling very positive about the development of the bike, and Rins and Marquez will be confident going into the next round: The Catalan Grand Prix.

Alex Rins 50 laps 262 km
"The test went very well today. We are very happy with the work done. We could not ride as much as we wanted, because at midday it started to rain, but did not prevent us from completing our scheduled work. The feeling is very positive, because we tried different mechanical developments that gave us good results. I think we are well prepared to face the Catalan Grand Prix."

Alex Marquez 25 laps 131 km
"During the second session today I had a crash, having gone in a bit strong at Turn 7 before Arrabiata. Luckily I did not hurt myself, but as a precaution we decided to go to the hospital, to do an ultrasound and x-rays. I'll spend the night in the hospital and probably tomorrow I’ll be discharged. It was a shame, because today's testing was going very well, we had tried some new components that gave me a good feeling on the bike. I wish I could have ridden more, but it was not possible. Anyway, I feel like I will be able to fight in Catalonia on race day."
