Mugello Test Brings Important Improvements For Simeon And Baldassarri

After a difficult Italian Grand Prix, Xavier Siméon was back in action today aboard the Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 Suter machine for an important day of testing at the Mugello circuit. The Belgian rider was able to perform several set-up adjustments in an attempt to solve the problems encountered during the race weekend, getting good results. Simeon, who completed a total of 55 laps, improved by about half a second the lap times set during the race, scoring a good 1’53”1.

Also Lorenzo Baldassarri, Team Gresini Moto2, worked hard on the set-up of his Suter, achieving a good balance and setting, as well as Siméon, a good 1’53”1, thus improving over a second the lap times obtained during last Sunday's race. The young Italian coverer 47 laps.

XAVIER SIMEON (1'53"1)
“Today we tried a lot of setting solutions to try to figure out what didn’t work during the Italian Grand Prix weekend, the first during which we were really in trouble from the beginning of the year. Unfortunately, the conditions didn’t allow us to take advantage of all the day, however we’ve been faster than we did in the race, and this is positive. Thanks to the changes made now I feel more comfortable when I ride on this track, even though in reality we have not yet solved one hundred percent all our problems and I was hoping for a bigger improvement”.

LORENZO BALDASSARRI (1'53"1)
“I am very happy because today we were able to make substantial changes on the bike set-up that allowed us to improve a lot: after the race we had already figured out what could be the areas that need work, and today we took advantage of the time available for do it. Now I feel more comfortable with the rear of the bike and I can also enter the corners in an easier way, without pushing too much physically. I also set a really good lap time, so now we look to Barcelona with more confidence”.

FAUSTO GRESINI
“Today we were able to complete a successful test ahead of the next Grand Prix: both Xavier and Lorenzo, in fact, apart from a small crash due to the damp track, have significantly improved their lap times. We therefore look forward to the next race with optimism, sure that we can get back to a good level of competitiveness”.
