"I am so grateful for the tremendous amount of support Fall-Line Motorsports' team owner Mark Boden and team manager Michael Harvey have been giving me," said Freiberg. "I know they are not in a position to fund me, but because they believe in me, they are willing to find ways to keep me in the seat. Truthfully I was not expecting to be driving at Kansas, especially after sitting out during the race at Lime Rock, but I am over-the-top excited that they have somehow made this happen. The search for outside funds on both ends absolutely still continues, but right now I have to say that I am very thankful to be a part of a team that is willing to do this for me. I owe them!"

Freiberg, of Bondville, Vermont, opened the 2014 season by securing a win during the BMW Performance 200 at Daytona International Speedway where Freiberg became the first woman to win overall in Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge history as well as the first woman to claim a victory (overall) at Daytona International Speedway. It also was the first Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge victory for her teammate Shelby Blackstock, the son of American country music singer Reba McEntire.

Following the win at Daytona, Freiberg and Blackstock teamed two more times before she stepped aside at Lime Rock Park. The pair battled a suspension failure at Sebring International Raceway, giving them a 20th place finish. At Mazda Raceawy Laguna Seca in Monterey, California, they worked through an electrical issue and transmission problems to finish seventh. Going into Lime Rock, the duo sat third in the championship points battle heading into round four.

At Lime Rock, Mike LaMarra and Terry Borcheller took over driving duties with the #48 entry, driving to a ninth-place finish. Freiberg continued to show support as she was l on-hand to help out the as she continued her hunt for additional sponsorship. She worked the signboard in the pits throughout the race and showed her dedication to the team. The #48 entry now sits fourth in the championship points battle.

The Grand Prix of Kansas will be contested on the 2.37-mile, 6 turn road circuit at Kansas Speedway. Qualifying is set for Friday, June 6 at 10:10 p.m. ET with the race scheduled to begin on Saturday, June 7 at 7:15 p.m. ET.
