Already Looking For His Second Win Of The Year, Webb Ready For X Games Austin

Fresh off a convincing victory in the opening round of the GEICO Motorcycle EnduroCross Series in Las Vegas, GEICO Motorcycle Beta rider Cody Webb is anxious to return to Enduro X competition at this Friday's 2014 Summer X Games at the Circuit of the Americas.

The California-based rider already has accumulated two silver medals and two bronze medals from previous X Games competitions and is looking to finally bring home a gold in the Enduro X final this year.

"The X Games are really cool because you have riders from all over the world doing battle," Webb said. "I had a lot of fun last year in the various Enduro X competitions I raced and I really enjoyed them all. This is my first year with GEICO though, so I'm hoping that I can make them proud and bring home another medal.

"It is cool to be able to compete against unfamiliar faces and see how you rank against them compared to the same riders you see on the EnduroCross circuit. It gives you an extra push to challenge yourself even more. Plus, you know the audience is huge, so you want to show them what you got.

"I've been training really hard and I'm super happy with my riding this year. Like always, the key will be to stay upright and take advantage of the chances the present themselves. You have to be ready for anything."

While Webb will try everything in his power to secure his first gold medal, he knows his role this weekend also includes being a goodwill ambassador for the entire GEICO Motorcycle EnduroCross Series.

"It's cool to know that I'm representing the EnduroCross Series when I'm competing in the X Games," he said. "Obviously, I want to give a good representation of the series by going out there and giving it my all, but knowing you're in the Enduro X finals against 13 of the best moto riders in the world really is a special recognition all on its own. It really puts into perspective the skill level you're at.

"I'm sure I'll see some other familiar faces from the EnduroCross series in the final, but for sure there will be others that we don't see often. It'll be a great fight."

Fans who want to catch Webb in action during the Enduro X Finals can watch the coverage live beginning at 4 p.m., Friday, on ESPN3.
